How does MoveTogether score friends on different wearables fairly?
MoveTogether normalizes every supported tracker into three shared metrics: Move calories, Exercise minutes and Steps. Scoring runs on the server, never on the device. Each competition picks one of seven scoring methods: Ring Close Count, Percentage of Goals, Total Activity, Step Count, Calorie Burn, Exercise Minutes or Workout Count.
Two of those make mixed-device groups fair. Percentage of Goals scores each person against their own daily targets, capped at 100% per ring. Ring Close Count awards one point per ring closed. Default goals are 500 Move calories, 30 Exercise minutes and 8,000 steps, and each person can change their own.
Heart rate, HRV and VO2 Max are deliberately not scored. Every brand estimates them with a different proprietary model, so scoring them would rank hardware instead of effort.
